Security and fallback settings help keep your agents reliable when something does not go to plan. These features are designed to protect call quality, reduce failure risk, and keep agents operational even when data is missing or an upstream provider has an issue.

Dynamic Variable Defaults

Dynamic Variable Defaults provide fallback values when expected data arrives empty or is missing. For example, if a field such as contact name, company, or appointment time is not passed in correctly, the agent can use a predefined fallback value instead of reading a blank or responding awkwardly. This helps maintain a smooth conversation even when the input data is incomplete.

Fallback LLM

Fallback LLM protects the agent if the primary model provider becomes unavailable. If the main AI model fails or experiences downtime, RapidCall can automatically switch to a backup model so calls can continue without interruption. This reduces the risk of failed conversations caused by external provider outages.

Fallback Voice

Fallback Voice works the same way at the voice layer. If the primary voice provider has an issue, the platform can switch to a backup voice service automatically. This helps keep calls active and prevents interruptions caused by audio provider failures.

Why it matters

Live calling systems need more than good prompts and strong voices. They also need resilience. Fallback settings help ensure that temporary provider issues or missing input data do not break the experience. The goal is simple: keep your agent running reliably and keep calls from failing for avoidable reasons.
